Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Jalapengyou (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of service

Jalapengyou is a web application that lets community groups organize recurring meetups, manage RSVPs, and integrate with Discord.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to send unsolicited messages (spam) to other users.
  • Abuse invite links or join links to add unauthorized members to groups you do not control.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users’ accounts or group data.
  • Use the Service in a way that violates any applicable law or regulation.
  • Automate requests in a way that degrades Service performance for other users.
  • Impersonate another person or organization.

4. Account termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, at our sole discretion and without prior notice. You may delete your own account at any time via Settings → Delete Account.

5. Service availability

The Service is provided on a best-effort basis. We make no guarantee of uptime, availability, or data durability. The Service may be subject to rate limits, scheduled maintenance, or unexpected outages. We are not liable for any loss or inconvenience resulting from Service unavailability.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE IS AT YOUR OWN RISK.

7. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, JALAPENGYOU AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

8. User content

You retain ownership of any content you submit (event descriptions, group names, RSVP comments). By submitting content, you grant us a limited license to store and display it to members of your groups as part of normal Service operation. We do not claim ownership of your content.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify active users via email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California.
